Transit Challenge

5-6 months exposure to mission work in several countries of Europe, with a 3-week training in the UK to start with

Transit Challenge 2012 is designed to assist OM teams across Europe in their mission of making Christ known. We hope that it will help to broaden your cultural perceptions, deepen your relationship with God and shape your character through an intense team-life situation. For six months you will be a vital part of a small team whose united purpose is to make Christ known across Europe. You will gather in the UK for three weeks of training and from there be sent out across Northern and Western Europe. You’ll finish your six months by being part of a summer outreach programme.

Be prepared for long journeys together in a Transit Van which will become a valued member of your team… In each country you will experience new cultures and form new relationships as you work alongside churches and OM teams. You will learn from and be challenged by this six month experience of team-life.

In each country you will work within a schedule that the local OM team will have prepared for you. This schedule should reflect the local culture and the long-term vision of the OM team. You will participate in ongoing projects as well as taking part in special outreaches and activities. You may be asked to create and lead children’s programmes, to talk with new people about your faith, to serve practically, to visit the elderly, to be involved in Sports programmes, and more; all with the aim of making Christ known.
